:: Summer Daze Triathlon ::

Get ready to compete in the Newton YMCA, Edward Jones Investments and HyVee of Newton annual Summer Daze Triathlon on May 12. Athletes will compete in a 300-meter indoor swim, 18-mile run and a 5K run during a morning of friendly competition.

Early packet pick up will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 11. Packet pick up on race day will be from 6-7 a.m. Race time is at 8 a.m.

Cost is $70 for individuals and $110 for a team. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, May 11. To register visit the Newton YMCA at 1701 S. Eighth Ave. E. or go to www.active.com. The 18-hole par 3 challenge is a unique event where each hole offers a multi-thousand dollar prize. The golf outing will be at the Westwood Golf Course in Newton, Iowa, on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.
