A Note from Debbie Knopf, Child Care Director

Dear Parents:
The YMCA Childcare Center offers a warm and nurturing environment where children can build positive relationships with caring adults.

Dedicated staff provide individual attention and encouragement to each child. Children participate in” hands on” learning activities that promote early math, language skills, art, and science.

The Early Childhood Environmental Scale is a method of assessing preschool environments and the center uses this system to improve space and furnishings, language/reasoning, personal care routines, activities, interactions, program structure, and staff development. The center is a participant of the Quality Rating System (QRS). Professional Development, health and safety, family and community partnership, and leadership/administration are the areas that Department of Human Service require centers to improve. We are currently a 4 star rating.

The YMCA Child Care Center builds on the child’s desire to learn by providing a challenging place that fosters intellectual growth, social growth, and physical growth which is part of the YMCA’s desire to promote healthy living, social responsibility and youth development.
