The Newton YMCA has hundreds of volunteers and thousands of volunteer hours each year to help the organization meet its mission. The Y can always use volunteers for art classes, chaperoning trips and dances, cleaning, yard work, painting and more. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the YMCA at (641) 792-4006.
SUMMER DAZE TRIATHLON :: MAY 12
The Newton YMCA is looking for help for the Summer Daze Triathlon on Saturday, May 12. The Y needs volunteers for traffic control for the event, help handing out drinks and snacks to athletes after the event, set up and clean up. Volunteers are needed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the YMCA. If you are able to help please contact Sue Field by email at sue.field@newtonymca.org.
50/50 RAFFLE SALES AT IOWA SPEEDWAY :: JUNE 23
The Newton YMCA is looking for help to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the Iowa Speedway in Newton on Saturday, June 23. Shifts are 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those selling tickets will be able to stay for the big race -- Indy 250.
