Kickboxing instructor Tiffannie Bruce will be participating in the 2012 Fight for Air Climb for the American Lung Association.

The winter weather has finally arrived in Iowa but don't let cabin fever set in. The Newton YMCA is nice and toasty, with a fresh pot of coffee this morning. We also have all our regularly scheduled classes and the pool, hot tub, track and the rest of the facility is open.
Come shake off the winter chill at the Newton YMCA today. Open 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.

John Mellinger loves to draw. So much so that he often volunteers his time to draw sketches for area organizations like Dollars for Scholars. Now, Mellinger is looking to help the Newton YMCA by offering to draw people’s homes for a donation to the Y.
