Fifth-annual free family fun fest planned for Saturday at Newton YMCA

 NEWTON – As leaves change to fall colors it’s a sure sign that Oktoberfest is just around the corner. The United Way of Jasper County, Newton YMCA and Big Brothers of Central Iowa are partnering together to host the fifth-annual free family fun festival Oktoberfest.
 
The event will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Newton YMCA. Oktoberfest is free to all Jasper County residents and offers a variety of family and children’s activities including a bounce house, crafts and more
all in an effort of “Bringing Together Jasper Communities.”
 
Oktoberfest is also supported by the Arts Connection, Black Hills Energy, Cardinal Lanes, Newton Police Department, Newton Fire Department, Iowa Speedway, Newton Hy-Vee, Kid Assist, Newton Fareway, Newton Girl Scouts, Wal-Mart of Newton, Smith’s Quality Rental, Van Kooten Family, Rigg’s Printing, Newton Boy Scouts, Peck Child Development Center, Sign Pro, RSVP, Willowbrook Adult Day Service, Jasper County Conservation Board, Skiff Medical Center, Clearview Recovery, Dominos Pizza in Newton, KCOB FM and Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge.
