The Newton YMCA & Newton Parks and Recreation are teaming together for Deep Freeze Days,-a weekend full of fun for the family.

The Jack Frost 5K race is just one of many of great events taking place. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Newton 4th of July Fireworks Display. The 5K will be Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the YMCA. Early registration prior to Feb. 14 is $25 and lat registration (after Feb. 14) is $30. Each runner will receive a Deep Freeze Days stocking cap.

The top finisher in each division will receive a 5-gallon bucket of ice cream, top male and female finishers will receive toppings to go along with their ice cream prize.

Registration and packet pick up is from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Route information will be available the day of the race.

Organizers haven't forgotten the kids either. The Kiddie Popsicle 1K will begin at 8 a.m. and is free for kids!
